JASON MOODY - PRINCIPAL

Admitted in 1996

As the Principal Lawyer of Moody Law, Jason is responsible for the entire practice.  Jason is a partner with over 20 years of experience in the industry and private practice working in Sydney, London and New York City.   

Jason is a recognised leader in his field.  He combines his extensive litigation experience with his commercial experience to get the best outcomes for his clients.

Jason has run claims against multinationals such as NTT Communications and CBS TV and institutions such as the Catholic Church, the Anglican Church and State and Regional Government departments in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, WA, SA and Tasmania.

THAM DAO - PARTNER

Admitted in 1997

As Partner, Tham brings decades of experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Building and leading specialised teams to resolve commercial, administrative law and professional misconduct disputes, Tham is committed to ensuring just and optimal outcomes for her clients.

Tham’s extensive work in public service combined with her passion for social justice makes her an ideal advocate for those who need it the most. “There is nothing more rewarding than what we do here at Moody Law. Whilst we can’t turn back time, we pride ourselves on being able to empower and give our clients justice and closure”.

Tham also loves spending time outdoors, enjoying long hikes and beach swims with her staffie, Frankie.

BEN BALDEN - SENIOR ASSOCIATE

A native of the United States of America, Ben brings varied experience in other areas of law to complement his current specialization within the area of personal injury and is committed in helping clients who have been sexually and physically abused as a child.

Ben is a skilled, diligent and committed lawyer with a passion for seeking restorative justice for those who have been wronged in the past.  He is determined in assisting clients find a new lease on life through a thoughtful and fair legal process. 

In his spare time, Ben enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and enjoying the arts.

SARAH COLEMAN - ASSOCIATE

Sarah joined Moody Law to expand on her knowledge of the law and develop her experience in helping clients to access justice.  Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and a postgraduate Law Degree.   

Prior to joining Moody Law, Sarah worked for a small law firm where she gained experience in assisting clients with estate and property matters. She hopes to use the skills and experience she gained in her current role as a Manager.  Like others at Moody Law, Sarah has a passion for social justice.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is also a loyal Giants supporter.

NICOLE HURST - LAWYER

Nicole joined Moody Law to diversify her practice of law. Nicole completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Australian Catholic University.

Prior to joining Moody Law, Nicole worked for a firm where she gained experience in estate and property matters. She has strong research skills and an understanding, warm nature. 

When not in the office, Nicole enjoys going to the beach and playing with her dog Bowie.

Niamh has currently completed a double degree in law and psychology at Macquarie University in Sydney, NSW. She is a person of integrity and dedication who always puts her client’s needs first, striving to get the possible outcome for them.

Niamh has great communication and analytical skills, who understands what is required from her clients and who is always willing to go above and beyond to seek justice for them.

In her spare time, Niamh is a keen basketball player, loves reading, and enjoys many forms of dancing.

She has a professional background in Family Law, where she gained valuable experience assisting vulnerable clients through sensitive and complex matters. Celine is committed to approaching every client with compassion and care, always mindful of the personal impact behind each legal matter.

Outside the office, Celine enjoys reading and spending time with dogs, and she has a strong passion for animal welfare.

DAENA DE LUNA - LAWYER

Daena joined Moody Law after completing her Bachelor of Laws and Science Degree with a major in Psychology at the Australian Catholic University. 

She has experience in commercial law and disputes. She has a particular interest in assisting vulnerable communities. She endeavours to provide a compassionate and down-to-earth service to each client.

When not in the office, Daena enjoys going to the beach, travelling and trying out different restaurants.

DEB WILLIAMSON- LAWYER

Deb is a dedicated and passionate legal professional with a wealth of experience in Criminal Prosecutions, Civil Proceedings and Coronial Advocacy. Before joining Moody Law, she served as a Police Officer for over 33 years, including more than 16 years as a Police Prosecutor.

Her extensive background in law enforcement has instilled in her a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to justice, particularly for marginalised individuals. Deb is especially drawn to Moody Law’s mission of  making a positive impact in the lives of survivors of historical child abuse. She is excited to apply her unique skills and experience to help our clients navigate their claims with compassion and expertise.

When she’s not advocating for justice, Deb enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, travelling, watching tennis and MotoGP, reading, and savouring a nice glass of wine.

She has a strong passion for advocacy and is driven by her belief in the importance of giving a voice to those who feel voiceless.

Prior to joining Moody Law, Isabelle avidly volunteered and worked with different non-profit organisations dedicated to supporting marginalised individuals and communities access justice.

Isabelle joined Moody Law to further meaningfully contribute to this purpose.

She has an eye for detail, which is essential to both the legal tasks she undertakes as a manager, and in her creative pursuits of painting and rug tufting.

MEG KUNKLER - MANAGER

Meg completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Sydney in 2025, after earlier studies at the University of Melbourne where she earned a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy.

She is passionate about helping others and has a particular interest in areas of law that protect and empower vulnerable individuals.

Outside of work, Meg volunteers as a tutor, supporting students in their learning and development, and enjoys spending time with her family in Wollongong.

OLIVIA SPITERI - MANAGER

Olivia holds a Bachelor of International Studies and a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University. During her studies, she undertook an international exchange at the University of Alcalá in Madrid, Spain, where she broadened her global perspective and further developed her language skills.

Olivia is a diligent and detail-oriented manager at Moody Law with a strong foundation in personal injury law, particularly in the management of records and evidence. She is passionate about social justice and committed to advocating effectively for her clients’ needs. Olivia is set to be admitted to the legal practice in 2026.

ZEENIYAR MEHTA - PARALEGAL

Zeeniyar is a recent graduate of The University of Sydney, where she completed her Juris Doctor, after graduating with distinctions in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of New South Wales. Studying abroad in Nepal and Japan further broadened her perspective on different jurisdictions, culture, and community.

She has a strong interest in power, powerlessness, and restoring what the justice system often fails to protect. Zeeniyar is not shy of confrontation and is driven by a deep commitment to advocacy. Her experience working as a youth-at-risk social worker, teacher, clerk, and within grassroots legal services has shaped a practical, down to earth approach to law and people.

Outside of work, Zeeniyar enjoys cooking with her mother, is a big film buff, and loves visiting the aquarium.

TRACEY FIERTL - EXECUTIVE PARALEGAL

Tracey is an experienced manager who brings dedication and diligence to her role. She has a Master of Arts degree (History) and degrees in Human Bioscience and Australian history. Tracey has balanced raising a busy family with study and work commitments.

Tracey has completed a number of community projects related to work history including the publication of a book and has successfully nominated a historic house for listing on the NSW State Heritage Register.

Through these volunteer projects, Tracey has interacted with a wide variety of community members and continues to support the local community in heritage related research. “It is an honour to contribute to our communities in a meaningful way.”

Tracey has dealt with over 1,000 inquiries regarding child sexual abuse cases.
